Considering Adoption for your Child
Is adoption right for you?
Adoption is when your child permanently lives with another family and is the legal process whereby parental responsibility transfers from you to the proposed adoptive parents.
If you’re considering adoption for your child, our professional and supportive team are able to guide you through your options.
Making the choice when considering adoption for your child
If you feel unable to care for your child due to your personal circumstances or family, financial or social pressures, you may be considering adoption for your child.
- We are here to support and discuss with you what is best for you and your family.
- We are available to support you at any time during your pregnancy or after the birth of your baby to help you explore your options based on your personal circumstances.
- We provide counselling and support throughout your journey to decide if adoption is the best option for you and your child.
You may choose for your child to enter voluntary temporary care, whilst you meet with a worker who will explore the emotional and legal implications of adoption with you.
Your child will be with authorised fosters carers, however you can spend time with them if you choose or request for them to be returned to you at any time.
