Family Support
Keeping families together
We aim to preserve the family unit wherever possible.
We provide services and resources to assist, including parenting skills development and education, family mediation, budgeting advice and other practical support, plus referrals to other useful support services.
We can also assist with kinship care and the process of applying for guardianship of a child.

Helping families thrive
The Intensive Family Preservation Program (IFPP) is a voluntary family support service, providing specialised support to vulnerable families.
Focusing on the safety and wellbeing of children between 0-17 years, IFPP supports those who have come in contact with the child protection system – offering support and resources to build family resilience, strength and capacity.
Partnering with families over 24 weeks (6 months), the IFPP works to minimise and ease any child protection concerns. Along with preserving family relationships, the overall aim of the service is to reduce the number of children and young people entering out-of-home care.
Your Therapeutic Case Managers will visit 2-3 times per week to assist with:
- Parenting skills and education activities
- Practical support within the home
- Relapse prevention and support
- Family mediation
- Guidance with referrals and advocacy to other support services
- Support to access and attend external stakeholder appointments
- Budgeting advice and support
- Safety Planning
